Style Jem Series: Styled by Laura

Hi everyone! I'm Laura, visiting today from Styled by Laura. I'm so excited that Morgan has invited me to take part in her new 'Style Jems' series! I would describe my style as simple and girly. I love well cut, classic tailored pieces mixed with pretty colours and statement accessories.

Olivia Palermo is a huge style inspiration of mine as she always looks so perfectly polished! I like to experiment with colour but must admit I'm always drawn to neutrals and I love blush, peachy tones.I'm also a huge lover of stripes and anything with a bow on it! Denim and Silk

Hello to you all. I hope the start of the week is going well! This past week, I was able to spend some time with my dearest, best friend Brittany. We had dinner and wine in the city and caught up on all things going on in our lives lately. I was also able to convince her to snap a few shots of what I wore that evening. She is such a sweet friend.

As I've mentioned, one of my most loved summer outfits is a simple maxi dress. This one below is one of my favorites. It's a pretty printed silk maxi that I purchased at a cute local boutique. I paired it with my favorite denim jacket, a wedge sandal, and I was ready for a casual dinner and drinks.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

This weekend has been so low key, which I love. We literally have had no official plans (dinner party did not happen) and have been doing pretty much what ever we have felt like doing. This afternoon, what we have felt like like doing is absolutely nothing. Just a little lounging on the day bed in the backyard, with a little sangria in our hands, and our pup at our side. It has been such a great lazy Sunday afternoon! What is every else doing this afternoon? Enjoying the nice summer weather like B and I?

Short and Sweet

Hello, and happy Friday! This week's Friday's Fancies theme is shorts! The only issue with this, is that I am rarely in a pair of shorts. I feel like they are always creeping up in places they really shouldn't, if you know what I mean? Instead of shorts, you will almost always find me a little dress or skirt, such as this!

Thoughtful Thursday: An Idea for the Weekend

With the summer weather upon us, and the weekend right around the corner, I'm thinking a little outdoor summer get together with a few of our friends may be in order, don't you agree?

As I have said before, I rarely host a formal sit down dinner party. I like to keep it casual with simple but the none the less, yummy food. Check out a few of my favorite entertaining recipes here. Add some candles or lanterns to your outside patio or even take the party to a local park. Mix up a little sangria, grab some bottles of wine, and I think you have yourself a successful summer party waiting to happen!

Style Icon: Kate Middleton

The past few days marked the celebration of the Queen of England's 60th Jubilee. And although it was certainly a thing to be celebrated, I have to admit, I was more interested in what Kate was wearing!

She looked STUNNING in both of these knock out, Alexander McQueen's, but doesn't she always? It seems like in the world of style, she can do no wrong. Her effortless, sophisticated looks are timeless, and in my opinion, she is a style icon for the ages.
