Style Jem

Hello Jem Journal readers! I'm Morgan from xoxo, me, and I'm so thrilled to be here today to share my personal style with you! When Morgan (yes, we have the same name) first asked me to do this, I jumped at the opportunity; and then I started thinking about how I would define my personal style and I paused... for a very long time. I finally came to the conclusion that I would define my personal style as "eclectic".  Based on that word, you can probably see why I struggled with defining it.  My wardrobe includes the staple pieces that any other girl's would, but I try to branch out and try different looks as well.  I see style as an expression of your personality, inner self, and even your mood sometimes.  Therefore, I try not to tie myself down to one particular style, such as "elegant". Because, let's face it, this girl can't be elegant all the time ;)

When your style is eclectic, you try not to spend too much on any one piece unless it's versatile or something you'll wear a lot. As for clothes, I really mix it up as far as quality goes. I've found that if you wear an F21 piece with something of better quality, it doesn't look cheap; and really some items at F21 don't look cheap regardless. When I find those, I feel like I've hit the jackpot! My go to stores are Madewell, Forever 21, Zara, and Urban Outfitters.

The only thing I won't go cheap on is a handbag.  I'd rather purchase an expensive one that I love that will last multiple seasons than to buy one I'm just satisfied with whose zipper will break within a few months. That's just me, though. It's all a matter of personal preference.  Below are a few of my favorite items that I either have or want.

Have: Michael Kors Grayson Satchel / Madewell Chambray / Kate Spade Necklace / Madewell Yellow Skinnies
Want: Romper / Floral Jeans / Dress / Peplum Tank
I would like to make a disclaimer and let you know that I purchased the Kate Spade necklace when it was 75% off.  There's no way I would've paid full price.  I purchased the Madewell chambray button down a couple of months ago and have only taken it off to shower. I'm kidding. But I have worn it A LOT.  My "want" items are obviously a bit more trendy, but they're all also under $100 - definitely a must for me when an item may not be "in" next season.

Oh, one more thing. The other item I'll splurge on is a pair of jeans. I'm 5'10", so finding a pair of jeans long enough for me is next to impossible.  When I find a pair that fits, I can almost always justify buying them because I never know how long it will be until I encounter another pair long enough that I actually like.

So there you have it - my style! If you want to know more about my style, hop on over and visit me at xoxo, me :)

Thank you so much for having me, Morgan!!
