Maxi Skirts!

Happy Halloween to you all! I hope your week is going well. Today, I am doing last minute errands in preparation for our journey to the Bahamas tomorrow. I have been on a search for any left over summer pieces which has been somewhat of a difficult task. So when all else failed, I did a little shopping in my own closet. Have you guys done this lately? If not, I totally suggest you do! I swear I found a dozen things that I love, but have forgotten about.

One of them being this pink maxi skirt! I know the color is very summer, however I think it will be very beach vacation appropriate, no?

Since my rediscovery, I have been searching for maxi skirt outfit inspiration. With the search, I also realized that with the right color and the right fabric, this trend can definetely be rolled into the fall/winter by simply adding a cute leather jacket or a great oversized sweater. What do you think about maxi skirts this fall?

Five Things...

Happy Monday, guys! Hope you had a great weekend. Ours was filled with an at home, Friday night date night. Pizza and wine included. A little early birthday shopping was done on Saturday, followed by a nice dinner at our friend's home.

Although the weekend has come and gone too quickly as usual, here are a five things I am feeling happy about on this Monday afternoon...

So happy I was able to spend a gorgeous fall evening in the city with friends this past week.

 I received a package from my mom, and this adorable sweater was inside! Thanks, mom! Loving leopard!

 So looking forward to being here in just a few days!

And hopefully soaking up a little sunshine with a nice glass of wine!

It was a gorgeous day yesterday, so did a little late afternoon shopping. I was really on a search for any last minute sale items for our trip to the Bahamas next week, but I got a little side tracked. You know all of the beautifully detailed collars that seem to be every where this fall? I found an amazing simple black blouse with knock out gold studs that had to be mine...

My Newest Revelation: Wallpaper

I stopped by our friends new home yesterday afternoon to catch up with my girlfriend, and to take a peek at their new place! As she showed me around their beautiful new house I couldn't help but notice the walls. In almost every room there was at least one wall that had been wallpapered.

Up until yesterday (I know, I am a little late on this) wallpaper instantly made me think of the 90's and awful pink and blue florals. Well...after seeing how amazing our friend's walls looked, and how it really transforms a room, I have completely changed my mind! I am already scouting out some potential walls in our home. Some gorgeous ideas below...

I really love this! It adds some serious fun to an otherwise plain staircase...

 Could also try utilizing wallpaper on other unexpected things, such as on an old filing cabinet...

Trending: Ponchos

This past weekend was spent in the city with friends and I will say, the city is gorgeous this time of year. Pretty leaves blowing around mixed with a fresh crispness in the air reminds me that the seasons are definitely slowly beginning to change here in Chicago.

With the changing of the seasons also comes a a little shift in my wardrobe. My ponchos (one of my favorite change of season staples) is becoming my best friend once again and I couldn't be happier. The only trick to wearing a poncho is balance. Because ponchos do have a tendency of being a little oversized it is key that you pair them with a less bulky bottom. Such as a skinny jean or legging. Happy Friday, guys! Hope you all have something fun planned. I am not sure what has sparked my newest color obsession, but lately I am gravitating over everything gold! When I say this, I mean head over heels in love with ALL things gold...pretty much on everything! In the home, in my closet, on my nails, you name it I like it.

Keep in mind, I am not wearing gold head to toe, nor is my home decorated solely in this gorgeous color. A splash here and there...a pretty metallic gold shoe, or an amazing gold accent pillow or mirror is kind of what I am referring to here.

Blog Inc.

This week I started reading the popular blog book, Blog Inc. Have you guys read it yet? If you haven't, a totally recommend you do. It is full of really amazing information for anyone who has a blog or is even just thinking about starting one.

I have to say, that aside from the fact that I am learning a million new things, I am also incredibly inspired by the individual blogs she has featured in this book. She has included interviews with the creators of a dozen popular blogs, picking their brains about how they have created such a successful site. It truly is phenomenal how these blogs have taken off and have turned into something much more than they could have ever imagined.
