The always classic tweed jacket is one of my favorite must have pieces in every girl's closet. The beauty of the tweed jacket is that it can easily be dressed up with a little skirt, or dressed down with a pair of cute jeans. A very functional and timeless piece.

Fall Fashion For Your Guy

Happy Monday, to you all. How was the weekend? Aside from our outdoor concert on Friday evening, mine was very low key. There are some advantages to a low key weekend. For example, I had plenty of time to catch up on things and also do a little online shopping. Instead of being selfish and shopping for myself, I did a little fall shopping for B.

As I have mentioned before, I am a stylist for J. Hilburn, a men's custom clothier . They have some amazing ready to wear pieces online as well as a gorgeous selection of fabrics for custom shirts, trousers, and suits. Here are some pieces that B will be receiving in the mail very soon, just in time for fall!

This fabric for a custom shirt, which I think will look nice layered under the sweater and paired with the sand colored cords! I think I am more excited about this outfit than he is.

Transitional

With the summer wrapping up, and cooler evenings on the arrival, I am finding myself putting together outfits that are transitional to the warmer days and cooler nights. For example, last night we had a casual birthday dinner with friends. It was 80 degrees when we left home, however much cooler on the way out. I started with a long black skirt and a tucked in tank. I threw in a crochet sweater to just throw over the top if I happened to get cold and it looked like this...

I love mixing my summer skirts with my fall sweaters, or my summer maxis, with a cute fall jacket or blazer. It is a great way to utilize all of your pieces through out the majority of the year. More transitional outfits below...

Picnic Menu

This Friday I will be partaking in my first Ravinia Concert. For those of you not in the Chicago area, Ravinia is a big outdoor concert venue. People bring blankets, chairs, wine, and food, and hang out in a big grassy area, with family, friends and strangers alike, while enjoying some good tunes. I am very much looking forward to this, however I am on a search for a yummy and portable menu for us. Here is what I have come up with so far.

A simple cheese plate, grapes, and fig spread included

Chicken salad sandwiches

Bite size spinach artichoke dip
So simple and so yummy!

Roasted beet and goat cheese salad



Bruschetta
We have cherry tomatoes and basil coming out of our ears, so this will be a tasty way to use some of them up!

Tuesday is always kind of an in between day of the week for me. It's still technically the beginning of the week, however we have gotten the dreaded Monday out of the way. On this Tuesday I would like to share a few things that have made me happy on this typically, ordinary kind of day...

And I am SO happy that a project that my girlfriend and I have been dreaming of doing for months, is now officially in the works! Cannot wait to share more with you guys as the project progresses!

Living Room Reveal+Lusting Over Creams and Whites

It's been a long time coming, but the final pieces to our living room (the rug and ottoman) finally arrived. I have to be honest, I was a bit hesitant about the fabric that we chose for the ottoman but now that it has arrived, it is my favorite piece.

Although the ottoman is a somewhat busy print, the cream and white coloring adds a certain amount of softness to the room, which I love. With the loudness of the teal, I chose to add a pretty cream throw blanket and pillow, as well as a white candle and tray to add a little more of a soothing feel to the space. I am officially lusting over the lovely combo of creams and whites...
